Theodore Townson Churton was an Anglican priest in the early 20th century.〔The Times, Thursday, Aug 10, 1899; pg. 14; Issue 35904; col A '' Public Appointments''〕 He was born into an ecclesiastical family on 24 April 1853〔His father was the Revd Prebendary H. B. W. Churton, sometime Vicar, Icklesham, Sussex and Examining Chaplain to the Bishop of Chichester, a post his son was also to hold> “Who was Who” 1897-2007 London, A & C Black, 2007 ISBN 978-0-19-954087-7〕 and educated at New College, Oxford. He was ordained in 1883 and was Curate of Holy Trinity, Hastings〔"The Clergy List, Clerical Guide and Ecclesiastical Directory" London, Hamilton & Co 1889〕 until his appointment to his father’s old parish at Icklesham in 1891.
